Falakata Celebrates ‘Kanyashree’ Day Today

Webdesk, TNI Falakata 28th July 2017: Kanyashree Scheme for the Girls has now seen the World Stage after the Honorable CM received the Unesco Award for the scheme started by the Government of West Bengal. Today the Department of Women & Child Development and Social Welfare, Falakata BDO, Falakata Block Administration jointly organized the day as Kanyashree Diwas at the Falakata Community Hall.
The program was inaugurated by the MLA of Falakata Mr. Anil Adhikari by cutting the ribbon and lightening the lamp. Along with him, there was the Falakata BDO Smt. Smreeta Subba, President of Falakata Panchayat Samiti Smt. Sandhya Biswas, Falakata Police Station IC Mr. Binod Gazmere, Block Social Development Officer Mr. Roshan Lama and others. In the program apart from the speeches by the guests, there was a photographic exhibition organized by the Alipurduar District Police and Falakata Police on the awareness about ‘Safe Drive, Save Life’, Child Marriage, Women Trafficking, female feticides, ATM forgery etc. At the end of the program Kanyashree’s were felicitated. Apart from Falakata all the villages under the Block also organized this day.
